Volumetric Truck Dimensions & Site Access
Before placing your concrete order, it is important to confirm that our delivery vehicles can safely enter and manoeuvre on your site. Our standard 8-wheel volumetric mixing trucks have the following dimensions:
| Specification | Dimension / Limit | Site Access Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Vehicle Width | 3.2 Metres (including wing mirrors) | Requires clear gateways and unrestricted entrance roads. |
| Vehicle Length | 10.0 Metres | Requires adequate space for turning and reversing. |
| Vehicle Height | 4.0 Metres | Watch for low tree limbs, cables, overhead wires, and archways. |
| Gross Weight (Fully Laden) | 32 Tonnes | Must park on solid ground, tarmac, or concrete (not soft lawn/paving). |
| Chute Reach | Up to 4.5 Metres (3-piece extension) | Can pour directly into trenches and slabs if truck can park close by. |
Pre-Delivery Site Checklist for Luton Sites
To ensure a seamless delivery and avoid unnecessary waiting charges, please review this pre-pour checklist before our arrival:
- Clear Street & Driveway Access: Ensure parked cars do not obstruct our 10-metre truck from approaching your boundary.
- Inspect Overhead Obstacles: Check for low overhead telephone wires, power lines, or overhanging roof canopies.
- Prepare the Barrow Route: If wheelbarrowing, ensure pathways are smooth, level, and free of debris. Lay wooden boards across grass or gravel areas.
- Adequate Site Manpower: Concrete begins setting immediately. Have sufficient helpers ready to barrow, rake, and level the pour quickly.
- Water Point for Washout: Our driver needs access to an outside water tap at the end of the pour to clean the discharge chute and mixing auger.
Free Offload Time & Demurrage Policy
Every delivery includes 10 minutes of free offload time per cubic metre ordered (e.g. 3m³ = 30 minutes free offload). If offloading exceeds this allocated window due to slow barrowing or site delays, a standard demurrage charge of £2.00 per minute applies.
